2016 Corvette Named Best Retained Value
Edmunds has just released their "Best Retained Values" list for 2016. The 2016 Chevy Corvette Stingray was named the "Best Midrange Sports Car" This would explain the small drop in used C7 Corvette Prices. This is also the second straight year that the C7 Corvette Stingray has won this award. The Stingrays' projected 5 year value is 53.9% to the categories 49.2%. The Corvette was the only Chevrolet car to rank first in its perspective category. While this is good news for Corvette Owners, the survey did not take into account the release of the Seventh Generation Grand Sport. The quite buzz among Corvette Enthusiasts is that their will be a lot of Stingrays hitting the market when the Grand Sport is released. Our bet is that Stingray prices will see a dip, and follow the same path as the C6 Corvette did when the C6 Corvette Grand Sport was released. This should be the hottest period for Corvette Parts Manufacturers and Aftermarket Vendors as a larger percent of 2nd owners modify their cars and the original factory warranties expire.
